The 5 best markets for 2010: Tacoma ranks #1
Leading financial prediction firm Moody'sEconomy.com lists Tacoma as the nation's likely best-performing housing market this year. Tacoma ranked at the top of the list amoung 100 metropolitan areas nationwide. The firm said it expects housing prices to rise 2.44% in 2010 in Tacoma.

Point Ruston: It took a big village, Sims says
HUD Secretary: New rules in D.C. enable Ruston Project

Two new apartment buildings to be built at the site of the former Asarco copper smelter near Point Defiance Park are examples of a new brand of cooperation among federal agencies, the number two man in the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development said Monday. Former King County Executive Ron Sims, now deputy HUD secretary, said the buildings, scheduled for construction early next year, couldn’t have been built with federal help under rules the Obama administration inherited.

MC Construction Builds First National Green Certified Home in Washington State
A custom home built by MC Construction is the first home in Washington state to be certified under the new National Green Building Standard™ developed by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) non-profit research center and the first national green building program to meet the rigorous standards
set by ANSI (American National Standards Institute). The program gives builders across the country a consistent, verifiable third-party rating system to achieve green certification for their homes. The southeast Seattle home will be open to the public July 18, along with the point-by-point checklist showing how the project met the standards. To read the press release, click here. First Residents move in to Stack Hill at Point Ruston
The first residents officially moved into their brand new custom home on Stack Hill in February. "We are thrilled to reach this milestone," says Mike Cohen, co-owner of MC Construction Consultants, Inc. To read more, click here. (March 2009)

Stack Hill Model Home Grand Opening a Huge Success
The new model on Stack Hill at Point Ruston hosted 333 visitors in just over three hours at its Grand Opening event in February. “It’s great to see people really excited about this project,” says Julie McBride, who co-owns MC Construction Consultants, Inc. The comments were overwhelmingly positive regarding the quality, craftsmanship, style, and design of the home, according to McBride. (February 2009)
